People in this group like hiking and nature walks, and want to learn to identify the native plants of California. We enjoy these plants in every season, from floriferous spring to dormant summer to cool fall to lush winters. We learn about the habitat value of plants, as well as ethnobotanical value as food, medicine, and raw material for twine, baskets, boats, and shelter.

This group is for folks who love the views, wildlife, wildflowers, nature walks, conservation projects and hiking on the Mayacamas Mountains Sanctuary - a private Nature Preserve owned and managed by Audubon Canyon Ranch (ACR). Hiking is with ACR’s guided programs or by permit ONLY, but you are welcome any time to enjoy birding and views from the pullouts along Pine Flat Road, which climbs a steep ridge thru the length of the Preserve. The hikes are led by volunteer Hike Leaders from the Mt. Tamalpais State Park, (MTSP) volunteer organization, called "Friends of Mt. Tam". Hikes take place every Sat.& Sun. year around.
